Hacked.com

Personal Digital Safety

Terms and Conditions

Effective date: August 1, 2026
Last updated: August 11, 2026

Important: Hacked.com provides information, preliminary automated reviews, and account-recovery support. No website content, automated result, human review, or paid service guarantees that a message, link, caller, transaction, device, account, or platform is safe, legitimate, recoverable, or free from loss.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Hacked.com is owned and operated by Hawkfish AS, a company registered in Norway under organization number 921020880. Our registered office is Hagaløkkveien 13, 1383 Asker, Norway.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Hacked.com, including articles, public tools, Safety Desk, automated or human reviews, forms, accounts, subscriptions, case workspaces, communications, and other website features. In these terms, "Hacked," "Hacked.com," "we," "us," and "our" mean Hawkfish AS.

Paid recovery and support services are also governed by the Client Agreement and Refund Policy. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. If a written order confirmation or individually agreed statement directly conflicts with these terms, that specific written statement controls only for the service and issue it expressly addresses.

2. Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing the website, submitting information, creating an account, requesting a review, purchasing a service, or expressly accepting these terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the website or services.

You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live requires a higher age or parental involvement, you may use the service only when that requirement is met. You must have legal authority to act for any account, business, person, or asset involved in a request.

3. Nature of the website and services

Cybersecurity, scams, account recovery, platform enforcement, and online fraud change quickly. Information may become incomplete or outdated, and labels, menus, policies, eligibility rules, and recovery paths may differ by country, device, account, and platform.

We provide reasonable assistance based on the information available to us. We do not control banks, payment companies, marketplaces, telecom providers, social networks, email providers, law-enforcement agencies, courts, government bodies, or other third parties. We cannot require them to restore an account, reverse a payment, remove content, identify a person, preserve data, answer a request, or decide a matter in your favor.

4. Safety Desk and automated reviews

Safety Desk provides a preliminary risk assessment based only on the screenshot, message, link text, call description, context, and other information you submit. Some reviews are produced or assisted by automated systems, including artificial intelligence.

  • A result is not proof that something is fraudulent, legitimate, secure, infected, or safe.
  • A result may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or affected by missing or misleading context.
  • Unless we expressly say otherwise, Safety Desk does not open, visit, test, purchase from, authenticate, continuously monitor, or interact with a submitted website or link.
  • Safety Desk does not contact the sender, caller, bank, store, marketplace, platform, or other party for you unless a separate paid service expressly includes that work.
  • No result replaces independent verification through an official phone number, official application, known website, bank, payment provider, platform, law-enforcement agency, lawyer, accountant, medical professional, or other qualified adviser.

You remain responsible for deciding whether to click, reply, download, install, disclose information, transfer money, purchase an item, contact a party, or take another action. If money, account access, identity documents, device control, or personal safety may be at risk, pause and verify through an independent official channel.

5. Not an emergency or regulated professional service

Hacked.com is not an emergency service, bank, payment processor, insurer, credit-reporting agency, law-enforcement agency, court, government authority, social-media platform, or telecom provider. Website information and Safety Desk results are not legal, financial, investment, tax, medical, insurance, or law-enforcement advice.

If you believe money is moving, a device is under remote control, an account is actively compromised, or someone is in immediate danger, contact the relevant bank, payment provider, platform, emergency service, or law-enforcement authority directly. Do not wait for a Hacked.com response.

6. Paid recovery and support services

Paid services provide professional time, research, guidance, drafting, escalation support, or other work described at checkout or in the Client Agreement. Payment buys the stated service effort and deliverables, not a guaranteed outcome.

Recovery may fail or take longer than expected because of missing evidence, compromised recovery channels, platform decisions, regional rules, third-party delays, changed policies, prior enforcement, client actions, or facts outside our control. Estimates and likely outcomes are opinions based on the information available at the time, not promises.

Meta Business Recovery scope and excluded costs

The Meta Business Recovery fee covers only the professional work and follow-up support stated in the accepted written offer.

The accepted scope includes recovery support for the personal Facebook profile of an in-scope client-side administrator when that profile is required to regain control of the covered business assets. This inclusion is limited to the administrators and business incident identified in the accepted offer. It does not include unrelated personal-profile incidents, other personal accounts, or a new incident outside the accepted business scope.

Unless the accepted written offer expressly says otherwise, the service does not include or pay for:

  • advertising spend, campaign budgets, platform charges, taxes, chargebacks, refunds, credits, or amounts owed to Meta or another provider;
  • lawyer, notary, mediator, arbitrator, court, filing, service-of-process, expert-witness, enforcement, or other legal or regulatory costs;
  • forensic imaging, device repair, data recovery, endpoint remediation, managed information-technology services, insurance, public-relations services, or work by another vendor; or
  • replacement revenue, profit, business opportunity, goodwill, data, advertising spend, or other loss arising from the incident or a platform decision.

You remain responsible for deciding whether to engage and pay any third party. Hacked.com is not required to advance, absorb, reimburse, or guarantee these excluded costs. If Hacked.com agrees in writing to arrange a third-party service or incur an external cost for your case, the written approval, quoted amount, and payment terms for that cost control.

Business-case refund guarantee

The business-case refund guarantee applies to a fixed-fee Meta Business Recovery or Business Help engagement unless the accepted written offer gives you more favorable refund terms. If the recovery outcome defined in the accepted offer has not been achieved, you may ask us in writing to stop work and close the engagement. We guarantee a refund calculated as follows: the amount actually paid to Hacked.com for that engagement, minus documented professional time at $199 per hour.

  • Professional time includes calls, live sessions, research, evidence review, written guidance, drafting, recovery and escalation work, case documentation, and case-related email or message support.
  • Time is documented in increments no larger than 15 minutes and is counted only through the time we receive the written refund request.
  • The refund cannot exceed the amount paid and cannot be less than $0. The calculation does not create an additional hourly balance under the fixed-fee engagement.
  • The guarantee does not apply after the recovery outcome defined in the accepted offer has been achieved. Early resolution is a completed outcome even when fewer hours were required than expected.
  • The guarantee does not apply to one-off sessions, consultations, subscriptions, demand-letter services, third-party charges, or work outside the accepted business-case scope.

Example: if you paid $1,499 for full recovery and we documented 4 hours of professional time, the guaranteed refund would be $703 ($1,499 minus $796). If a paid assessment was credited at recovery checkout, the calculation starts from the lower amount actually paid for the recovery engagement.

This is a service-fee refund guarantee, not a guarantee that Meta will restore an asset, reverse a decision, issue a credit, or respond within a particular time. It is separate from and does not limit any statutory withdrawal right, refund right, price-reduction right, conformity remedy, or other right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

This section defines the service scope. It does not exclude liability for the failure of Hacked.com to perform an expressly agreed service and does not limit any liability, consumer right, refund right, or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

7. Accounts, subscriptions, and access

You are responsible for keeping your account access secure and for activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your Hacked.com account or case workspace has been accessed without permission.

Subscription price, billing frequency, included usage, renewal, and cancellation terms are shown before purchase. You may cancel a subscription using the available billing controls or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund amounts already charged, except where the Refund Policy, an order confirmation, or applicable law provides otherwise.

Safety Desk included expert cases

While the subscription is active, an Individual membership includes up to one case with our security experts per membership year. A Family membership includes up to two such cases per membership year, shared among the family members. The plan and allowance shown at purchase control if they differ from this general description.

Included expert cases become available after the first 14 full days of the subscription and cover only a new incident that occurs after the subscription started. You must provide an accurate incident date and enough information for us to assess eligibility. An incident that began before the subscription started is not eligible.

The allowance belongs to the primary membership. For a Family membership, removing or replacing a member does not restore a case that has already been opened. A case is counted when it is opened, even if the matter is resolved early, you stop participating, the affected member is removed, the subscription is canceled, or the requested outcome is not achieved. We may restore an allowance used because of a verified duplicate or technical error.

Any stated value is a maximum reference value, not cash, stored credit, or a guarantee of the work required or the outcome. Unused or used expert-case benefits cannot be redeemed for cash, credit, or a subscription refund. This does not limit mandatory consumer rights, statutory withdrawal rights where applicable, or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • use the service only for accounts, assets, and matters you own or are authorized to manage;
  • preserve evidence and independently verify important decisions;
  • follow safety instructions carefully and ask when an instruction is unclear;
  • avoid sending passwords, one-time codes, complete payment-card numbers, banking login details, private keys, or unnecessary identity documents through public forms;
  • comply with applicable law and third-party platform terms; and
  • promptly tell us when relevant facts change.

We are not responsible for loss caused by false, incomplete, outdated, unauthorized, or misleading information supplied by you or another person, or by your decision not to follow a clearly communicated safety step, except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.

9. User submissions

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to receive, process, reproduce, transmit, secure, and analyze that content only as reasonably needed to provide the requested feature or service, prevent abuse, comply with law, and enforce our agreements.

You must not submit content you have no right to share. Do not submit unlawful material, malware, stolen credentials, private information about another person without a lawful basis, or content intended to facilitate unauthorized access, fraud, harassment, surveillance, or other harm.

Free Safety Desk submissions are not automatically added to a Hacked.com case. They may be transmitted to an artificial-intelligence provider to generate the requested review. Review the Privacy Policy and the notice shown with the submission form before sending information.

10. Prohibited use

You must not use the website or services to:

  • gain or maintain unauthorized access to an account, device, system, or data;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority;
  • develop, distribute, or improve malware, phishing, credential theft, evasion, or abusive automation;
  • probe, scan, overload, disrupt, scrape, or bypass website security or rate limits without written permission;
  • submit content that infringes privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, or other legal rights;
  • threaten, harass, exploit, or defraud another person; or
  • use a review result as a certification, warranty, endorsement, insurance decision, or representation that a third party is safe or fraudulent.

11. Intellectual property

Hawkfish AS and its licensors own the website, branding, software, layout, original text, graphics, and other protected material, except for user submissions and clearly identified third-party material. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the website for lawful personal or internal business purposes.

You may not republish, sell, license, systematically copy, train a model on, or commercially exploit protected website material without written permission, except where applicable law expressly allows it.

12. Third-party platforms, links, and providers

The website may mention or link to third-party websites, apps, platforms, payment processors, scheduling tools, publications, and service providers. A link or reference does not mean that we control, guarantee, insure, certify, or endorse the third party, its security, its content, or a transaction.

Third parties operate under their own terms, policies, availability, and security practices. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for a third party's acts, omissions, decisions, outages, breaches, content, products, services, charges, refunds, or use of information.

13. Availability and security

We use reasonable measures to operate and protect the website, but no online service is uninterrupted or completely secure. We do not guarantee continuous availability, error-free operation, permanent storage, compatibility with every device, or prevention of every unauthorized event.

We may modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue a free feature when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or service improvement. Changes to paid services remain subject to applicable law, the Client Agreement, and the terms presented at purchase.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, free website content, tools, and preliminary reviews are provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis. We disclaim implied warranties and representations concerning accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, and results, except where they cannot lawfully be disclaimed.

No statement by an employee, contractor, reviewer, automated system, article, advertisement, message, or support response creates a guarantee unless an authorized representative expressly identifies it as a guarantee in a written service agreement.

15. Limitation of liability and protection of Hacked personnel

In this section, the "Protected Parties" are Hawkfish AS, Hacked.com, and their current and former affiliates, owners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be limited, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, and mandatory consumer rights and remedies.

Subject to those exceptions and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Protected Parties are not liable for:

  • loss caused by relying on website information, a Safety Desk result, an automated review, or a preliminary human opinion as proof or a guarantee;
  • money sent, purchases made, links opened, messages answered, information disclosed, software installed, or other actions taken before or after a review;
  • failure to detect a scam, malicious link, compromised account, altered document, impersonation, hidden context, or later change;
  • acts, omissions, policies, decisions, delays, outages, or security failures of a bank, platform, marketplace, telecom provider, payment company, government body, or other third party;
  • excluded costs or third-party expenses described in the accepted offer or these terms, except where Hacked.com expressly agreed in writing to pay them or applicable law requires otherwise;
  • loss of access, opportunity, revenue, profit, goodwill, business, data, evidence, or anticipated savings;
  • indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss; or
  • events outside our reasonable control.

Where a lawful monetary cap may be applied, the aggregate liability of Hawkfish AS for claims arising from a specific paid service will not exceed the amount you actually paid to Hawkfish AS for that specific service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. For free website features and free preliminary reviews, no payment or compensation is due from the Protected Parties unless applicable law requires it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, any claim concerning the website or services must be brought against Hawkfish AS, not personally against an owner, shareholder, director, officer, employee, contractor, agent, or representative. This personal-claim restriction does not protect a person from liability that applicable law imposes on that person and does not reduce any non-excludable liability of Hawkfish AS.

These terms do not create any right or entitlement to damages, reimbursement, compensation, recovery, payment, or another remedy from a Protected Party except where a paid-service agreement expressly provides it or applicable law requires it.

16. Responsibility for unlawful use

If you use the website for an unlawful purpose, materially breach these terms, infringe another person's rights, or submit content without authority, you are responsible for the reasonably foreseeable loss and cost your conduct causes, to the extent permitted by law.

If you use the service primarily for business purposes, you agree to indemnify Hawkfish AS against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising directly from your unlawful use, your infringement of third-party rights, or your material breach of these terms. This business indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Hawkfish AS or where applicable law does not permit it.

17. Consumer rights, withdrawal, refunds, and complaints

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits rights that applicable consumer law makes mandatory. Standard terms that are unfair or unenforceable do not bind a consumer, and the remainder of these terms continues to apply where legally possible.

Consumers purchasing online may have a statutory right to withdraw, commonly within 14 days. The application of that right can depend on the service, when performance begins, whether the service has been fully delivered, and whether the consumer expressly requested early performance and acknowledged any resulting effect on the withdrawal right. Purchase-specific information is provided during the relevant checkout or confirmation process.

Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy, the Client Agreement, the terms presented at purchase, and mandatory law. Nothing in a refund policy removes a remedy that cannot legally be excluded.

Send complaints to help@hacked.com first so we can review the service, transaction, and requested remedy. Norwegian consumers can obtain guidance from the Norwegian Consumer Council. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the Norwegian Consumer Authority may provide an applicable mediation route.

18. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, threats, abuse, non-payment, unauthorized activity, security risk, repeated material breach, or a legal requirement. Where reasonably possible and appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.

Termination does not remove obligations or rights that arose before termination. Sections that by their nature should continue, including intellectual property, responsibility for misuse, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and general provisions, survive termination.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in law, security, technology, providers, or services. The updated version applies to future website use from the stated effective date. Material changes affecting an active paid subscription or ongoing paid service will be communicated when required by law or the applicable agreement.

If you do not agree to updated terms, stop using the affected service and cancel future subscription renewals. Changes do not remove rights or remedies that already arose.

20. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections provided by the law that would otherwise apply in your country of residence.

Disputes that cannot be resolved informally may be brought before the competent Norwegian courts. Consumers may also bring a claim or use a dispute-resolution process in another place when mandatory consumer or procedural law permits it. Nothing in these terms requires a consumer to waive a legally available forum or remedy.

21. General provisions

If a provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our written consent. We may transfer an agreement as part of a lawful reorganization, financing, or sale only where the transfer does not reduce mandatory consumer rights or materially worsen an active paid service.

These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, the Client Agreement where applicable, and the purchase-specific terms form the agreement concerning the website and service. They do not create rights for a third party except where these terms expressly protect a Protected Party.

23. One-off expert sessions and case workspaces

When checkout describes a Personal or Business session, the stated payment covers one 50-minute session with a dedicated security expert and opens a private case workspace. The session purchase does not include unlimited meetings, ongoing investigation, continuous messaging, escalation work, or a full support package unless checkout or a written order confirmation expressly says otherwise.

  • The assigned expert reviews the information provided and leads the first paid session.
  • Additional sessions with the expert assigned to the case may be purchased from the case workspace, subject to availability.
  • Broader hands-on or escalation support may be offered as a separate upgrade when appropriate for the case.
  • For a Meta Business Assessment Call, the verified assessment payment is credited once toward either full Meta Business Recovery or Personal Account Recovery for the same case, whichever is ordered first. The credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred to another case, and cannot be used more than once.
  • Each additional session or upgrade is a separate purchase. Its scope and price are shown before payment.
  • Opening or retaining access to a case workspace does not convert a one-off session into a subscription or an ongoing support package.

We may assign another qualified expert when the original expert is unavailable, the case requires different expertise, or operational needs reasonably require reassignment.

24. Annual online account and security support

This annual subscription starts when payment is confirmed and renews annually until canceled. While active, it covers reasonable support through Hacked.com case workspaces for ongoing or new personal and business online-account access, recovery, impersonation, compromise, and related security issues involving accounts or assets you own or are authorized to manage.

  • Subscription-funded cases do not require a separate case-opening payment.
  • One subscription-funded case workspace may remain open at a time. After it is resolved, another covered case may be opened while the subscription remains active.
  • The subscription does not guarantee recovery, continuous monitoring, unlimited live meetings, legal representation, payment of third-party charges, device repair, forensic imaging, managed IT, or work outside online account and related security support.
  • Cancellation stops future renewal. Access continues through the paid period unless it is suspended for non-payment, unlawful use, abuse, or another reason allowed by these terms.

25. Personal Account Recovery

Personal Account Recovery is a one-time fixed-fee engagement for one accepted personal account incident. The accepted offer must state the covered incident and the recovery outcome before payment. The engagement includes 12 months of follow-up support for that covered case and does not become a subscription.

  • Recovery work may include calls, live sessions, research, evidence review, written guidance, documentation, and recovery or escalation support.
  • A paid assessment is credited only when the accepted offer expressly says it applies to the same case.
  • If the accepted recovery outcome remains unresolved, you may ask us in writing to stop work. Any refund equals the amount actually paid for the recovery engagement minus documented professional time at $199 per hour, never below $0.
  • Time is recorded in increments no larger than 15 minutes and only through the time the written request is received.
  • The refund option ends once the accepted outcome is achieved. It does not guarantee that a platform will restore access, reverse a decision, or respond within a particular time.
  • Nothing in the commercial refund option limits mandatory consumer rights or remedies.
