Facebook Search Moves On Without Microsoft’s Bing

Microsoft, which recently began accepting bitcoin for its digital products, will no longer be the primary search provider for Facebook. For years, Microsoft’s Bing provided search results for the world’s largest social network, but this weekend marks a shift in Facebook Search.

According to a report from Reuters, a revamped Facebook Search will launch on Monday, December 15th. The reports states that the new tool will give the company’s 1.35 billion users the ability to filter through past comments and other information from friends.

Facebook Considers Emotions Other than “Like”

In a public question and answer session today, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg fielded one of the most commonly asked questions – whether or not Facebook would ever implement a “dislike” button.

“You know, we’re thinking about it,” said Zuckerberg. Dislike can mean two things, he said. “Some people have asked for a ‘dislike’ button because they want to be able to say that thing isn’t good, and that’s not something that we think is good for the world,” he explained. “I don’t think there needs to be a voting mechanism on Facebook about whether posts are good or bad. I don’t think that’s socially very valuable.”
