Cybersecurity Is the New Atom Bomb, Says Apple Co-Founder

In an interview on Australian TV news show Lateline, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak stated that cybersecurity is the greatest threat known to man since the atom bomb, one which is getting “worse and worse year by year.”

Steve Wozniak, the man who co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs back in the early 1970s has stated that cybersecurity is the greatest threat that mankind is facing presently.

He compared it to the atomic bomb, a threat which he described as a very real scenario in his early days.

Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, & Stephen Hawking: No AI Warfare

Around 1,000 people involved in the robotics industry have signed a letter urging a ban on artificial intelligence arms. An arms race could unfold where the winner is the one who makes the best robot killer. According to some of the brightest minds in the industry, including Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, and Stephen Hawking, feel that AI technology applied to warfare can be a “threat” to humanity.

Many others also signed a letter that was presented at a conference in Argentina. The goal is to get governments to understand the seriousness of allowing an artificial intelligence arms race to develop.
