Hacked: Pokemon Go Developer CEO’s Twitter Account

The latest high-profile victim to see a social media account hacked by self-proclaimed white hat hacking group OurMine is John Hanke, CEO of Niantic, famously relevant as the developer of mobile gaming phenomenon Pokemon Go.

In a series of tweets, OurMine – the hacking group which has infamously breached the likes of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s social media accounts – has claimed its most recent victim’s social media account. As of publishing, John Hanke – CEO of Pokemon Go developer Niantic has his Twitter account still compromised by the hacking outfit, with several tweets still showing up on his account.

Hacking Group OurMine Claim HSBC Servers Takedown

OurMine, a hacking group that has risen to prominence after compromising prominent social media accounts belonging to the likes of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, has claimed that it took down the US & UK servers of major banking institution, HSBC.

Hacking collective OurMine, which claims to be a white-hat outfit indulging in hacking shenanigans of executives from major tech companies, has claimed that it took down the servers of banking giant HSBC, both in the US and the UK on July 12.

In a post, the hacker group stated:

Twitter CEO’s Twitter Account Was Hacked

Twitter has seen the latest high-profile user account hacked. Arguably, the biggest one yet – the company CEO’s account.

The same hacking outfit who previously compromised Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter and Pinterest accounts, as well as Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s Quora account have struck again. This time, it was the Twitter account of the social media platform’s CEO, Jack Dorsey.

A now-deleted tweet simply states:

Hey, its [sic] Ourmine,we are testing your security.

The tweet also contained a link to their website. Identical tweets followed and were subsequently deleted. Engadget caught the tweet with a screenshot before it was pulled down. [...]

Google CEO’s Quora Account Hacked by Zuckerberg Hackers

Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s Quora account has been compromised by the same group of hackers who previously breached Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter and Pinterest accounts.

A three-man hacker outfit called OurMine has hacked Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s Quora account, posting messages on the platform which was incidentally connected to his Twitter account. The posts were therefore forwarded to over half a million Twitter followers.

Late Sunday night, Pichai’s Twitter account began a series of tweets that read:

“Hey, it’s OurMine, we are just testing your security, please visit to upgrade it.”
