Has NASA Discovered a New Earth with Alien Life?

Published

nasaRead our Kepler brief here.

NASA has announced they will break a story that might change our view of the universe. Today at 12:00 EDT they will live stream a press briefing about the new discovery with leading NASA scientists and researchers.

NASA‘s update says:

The first exoplanet orbiting another star like our sun was discovered in 1995. Exoplanets, especially small Earth-size worlds, belonged within the realm of science fiction just 21 years ago. Today, and thousands of discoveries later, astronomers are on the cusp of finding something people have dreamed about for thousands of years — another Earth.

The briefing participant are:

  • John Grunsfeld, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington
  • Jon Jenkins, Kepler data analysis lead at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California
  • Jeff Coughlin, Kepler research scientist at SETI Institute in Mountain View, California
  • Didier Queloz, professor of astrophysics at Cambridge University, United Kingdom

What to Expect for Space and Sci/Tech Under President Trump?

Published

Trump sign

US President-elect Donald Trump doesn’t strike as one who knows – or cares – a lot about space, science, and technology. Since the announcement of Trump’s victory, there have been a lot of headlines about a possible catastrophic impact of the upcoming Trump presidency on space and sci/tech in the US. However, a smart businessman – and Trump is one – knows that he must have competent advisers for issues on which he is ignorant, or uninterested.
