Explore History in Liner Two-Dimensions in This Tremendous Infographic
A simple and brilliant visualization counts every key event from history, with events referenced from Wikipedia. And it’s time you experienced it.
The weekend is upon us and we wish we had stumbled upon this sooner. Behold, the earth’s history, our history and everything we know of events before our time in an interactive timeline – courtesy of Matan Stauber as his final project submission at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
The timeline, called Histography, contains plenty of small black dots, each one representing a significant event in history.
There are time periods such as the ‘Age of Reptiles’ or the ‘Middle Ages’ to zoom into and focus on with the horizontal axis of the infographic representing time. The interactive timeline even contains specific events such as ‘discoveries’ and ‘empires’, ‘music’ and ‘riots’ to filter out from the rest and delve into.
It’s completely captivating and we recommend it. Explore history across different periods in time and watch as black pixels reshuffle and scramble across your screen to the sound of clashing marbles.
Go ahead, try it.
